French teams want to play in Eurocup: Only FIBA Cups to be a step back for our basketball

Two French teams, Limoges and Strasbourg, were in Barcelona for the Euroleague meeting on Monday

The French clubs want to play in Eurocup next season and not only in the new FIBA Cups, despite the agreement signed by the Federation with FIBA.

Limoges CSP and SIG Strasbourg attended the Euroleague meeting in Barcelona on Monday and expressed their desires to sign the three-year agreement to play in Eurocup till 2019.

“Playing just in FIBA Cups will be a step back for French basketball. This would stop the development of our young players and would be against our National Team” the French teams of LNB wrote in a press release published by L’Equipe. “We ask FFBB to review its position and allow us to play in Eurocup”.

    Eurocup is too much for French teams. They would better play in Fiba cups not to get dominated by other teams.

    Strasbourg is in quarter finals, we'll see how they do this afternoon against Nizhny Novgorod ;)
    In a general way, 8 or 10 French teams have almost the same level and French championship has a good general level but doesn't really have very good clubs. Even if I think you weren't really talking basketball but just low life trolled right here CanCan...

    Limoges won't even make the Pro A playoffs this year...
    Euroleague(/cup) should not make invitations or wild cards but qualifications according to sport results.
