Kirk Penney leads TED Kolejliler over Tofas

Two great sides, Tofas and TED Kolejliler face up in  the first week of the Turkish Basketball League. TED Kolejliler beat Tofas 81-72.

Kirk Penney led the TED with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. 2 bigmen of TED Nedim Yucel and Jovo Stanojevic also played very well. Jovo finished the game with 14 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists. Double-double machine Yucel scored 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the winners side. Ben Woodside added 12 points+5 rebounds+5 assists.

Josh Heytvelt led the Tofas with 16 points+4 rebounds, youngster Sipahi scored 11 points and made 1 assists. Elonu finished the game with 13 points+8 rebounds and Steve Burtt added 14 points+7 assists for Tofas.

Bad start for Tofas. They didn't qualifed to Turkish Cup quarter finals and also they have started the league with a loss. But I can say that TED is great team. They got Woodside-Penney at backcourt and Yucel-Stanojevic at frontcourt. On paper, coach Sunter had a great team.
