Fenerbahce made a contract offer to Ettore Messina

Ettore Messina, where next? After claiming to posses the desire to coach again, the 52-year-old Italian native who spent the past season consulting Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers, is pursuing European coaching positions.

After David Blatt re-signed with Maccabi Tel Aviv and Zeljko Obradovic said he's probably staying with Panathinaikos, Euroleague powerhouses CSKA Moscow and Fenerbahce Ulker are still in search of a sideline leader.

When in Europe, Messina was frequently rumored to join NBA coaching staffs, while being linked with the Sacramento Kings, Toronto Raptors and San Antonio Spurs. Now, Messina is yet to reveal his next move, but Sportando was told via European source that Turkish Fener has presented Messina with a 2012-13 contract.

Fener's coming off an extremely disappointing season including the release of head coach Neven Spahjia for George Dikeoulakos. Fener finished the regular season as the 5th seed (21-9) and failed to reach both the Euroleague and Domestic Final Fours, after losing 2-0 to Besiktas in the Turkish Quarterfinals.
