Besiktas close to landing Charles Smith

Charlie Smith is close to returning to Tiurkey where he will wear the jersey of Besiktas. The American player spent last season in Italy with Virtus Roma averaging 11ppg and 3.4rpg in Serie A and 6.4ppg and 1.8spg in Euroleague.

Smith, out of New Mexico, was drafted by Miami Heat in 1997 with the 26th overall and has played in the NBA with Clippers, Spurs, Blazers and Nuggets before a brilliant career in Europe with Scavolini Pesaro, Real Madrid and Efes Istanbul.

In Istanbul he will work again with coach Ataman who had already in Turkey with Efes Pilsen where he has played from 2008 to 2010.
