Fantasy basket from Turkey? Galatasaray dreams of Tracy McGrady

Il nome di T-Mac gira già da qualche giorno intorno alla squadra turca

Since few days there is a rumors on internet about Galatasaray interested in Tracy McGrady. The NBA star spent last season with Detroit Pistons averaging 8ppg, 3.5rpg and 3.5apg in 72 games (39 in the starting five).
McGrady had his best years in NBA with Orlando Magic and Houston Rockets but from the season 2008/09 he was slowed down by a series of injuries. Last year T-Mac was traded to New York Knicks with whom he has played 24 games averaging 9.4 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.9 assists. In the summer 2010 he moved to Detroit Pistons and from July he will be free agent (he signed a one-year deal with the franchise).
For sure the proposal from Turkey, if confirmed, will be higher than the one in NBA (he gained $1.35M) where he has played 886 games recording averages of 20.4 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists.
The Turkish teams are very active on the market considering that the Euroleague Final Four 2012 will be played in Istanbul (Fenerbahce already signed Jerrells, Gist and Bogdanovic; Efes Istanbul penned a deal with Dusko Savanovic, Ermal Kuqo and is negotiating with Stanko Barac; Galatasaray landed Furkan Aldemir, kept coach Mahmuti) and they want to be there for the final act of the most important European competition.
So far McGrady-Galatasaray is just a rumors but also last summer the news about Allen Iverson going to Turkey started as rumors on the web and then the deal was finalized with The Answer who landed in Besiktas for few months before the injury.
In the last hours, also As and Fanatik reported about Galatasaray interested in Tracy McGrady. As reported by sources close to the team, Galatasaray has never considered him as an option for the future and with Mahmuti confirmed as head coach T-Mac would not be able to pass the locker room door, but for Galatasaray fans dreaming is priceless.
