Allen Iverson will undergo surgery

Allen Iverson has returned to the United States to have surgery to remove a lesion on his leg and says he will play basketball again.
An MRI taken earlier has shownshowed a small shadow between the bones in Iverson's lower leg, according to ESPN's Ric Bucher. He continued to play for Besiktas in Turkey, but the pain grew worse and a second MRI showed the shadow had grown.
"Two things have to happen," his agent, Gary Moore, told the Associated Press. "First, that lesion has to come out. Second, it has to be tested to see if it is malignant or benign."
Despite rumors in Turkey, Iverson, 35, has no plan to retire. "People need to know that Allen is and always has been a fighter," Moore said. "He's got a battle ahead of him."
