Engin Atsur to miss start of season

Fenerbahce Ulker guard Engin Atsur will miss the start of the season after suffering a ruptured Achilles tendon while playing for the Turkish national team. Atsur, who joined FB Ulker in June on a two-year deal, suffered the injury to his left leg while playing for Turkey against New Zealand at the Istanbul Cup over the weekend. He will undergo surgery and is expected to be in a cast for three weeks. Atsur should begin running in two-to-three months and is expected to be playing basketball in four months, meaning early December. Fenerbahce Ulker opens the Turkish Airlines Euroleague season in late October.
