FIP President Petrucci reportedly disappointed by Gigi Datome for his post on Facebook

Italian Basketball Federation president Gianni Petrucci is disappointed by Gigi Datome for his post on Facebook in which he announced that he won’t play for Italy at the World Cup qualifiers, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Datome already said after Eurobasket that he was going to take a break from National Team for a season. But he was named in the preliminary list for the first two games against Romania and Croatia.

Petrucci was hoping for a phone call from Datome before his post on Facebook and did not like the part when Datome says that FIBA earns money by organizing the National Team windows while player have to leave the clubs that pay them.
