Fenerbahce closes an amazing season with the victory of the BSL championship
Crazy comeback in game-4 against Besiktas, the team of coach Obradovic celebrates the second consecutive Turkish title
After the Euroleague trophy Fenerbahce Istanbul celebrated another big seasonal success, winning for the eighth time the Turkish championship, confirming the triumph of the last season. The team of coach Obradovic won without defeats the final series against Besiktas, 4-0 thanks to two amazing overtime away victories.
Fenerbahce closed at first place the regular season with 28-2 record, winning in the playoffs the series on Tofas and Darussafaka. Besiktas reached the finals as second best team of the season, beating Efes in the semifinal series. Great finals for the team of coach Sarica, despite the zero wins against the almost unbeatable champions.
Fener closed the year with the 98-94 OT win in Akatlar Arena, thanks to an incredible -14 comeback in the last 2 minutes of the game! Bogdanovic sent the game to the overtime (like two days ago in game-3) and the visitors brought home the decisive victory to celebrate the title.
Strawberry, Stimac, Roll and Sipahi not enough for the Sompo Japan, against the 2017 best team in Europe. Bogdan Bogdanovic named Finals MVP with 19.5ppg, 4.8rpg and 5.3apg in 4 matches against Besiktas. Really important the efforts of all Obradovic players, great and decisive game for Vesely in the last appearance of the season with 26pts and 11reb.
Fenerbahce season ends with the triumphs in SuperCup, Euroleague and BSL, missing only the Turkish Cup trophy won by Banvit. 37-2 the total record in SporToto BSL for the champions, with an open strip of 30 consecutive wins (last defeat in December 2016).
