Blatt is back in Europe, signs for two years with Dogus
Darüşşafaka Doğuş Basketball has chosen Israeli-American David Blatt (57) as their new head coach. The deal with Blatt covers the seasons 2016-17 and 2017-18.
Blatt became the head coach the NBA team Cleveland Cavaliers for one and half season and led them to NBA finals in 2015. Although he had been born in USA, he was the European-raised coach to land a head-coaching job in the NBA.
He spent most of his coaching career in Europe, winning 5 Israeli league title with Maccabi Tel Aviv as well as claiming the Euroleague title in 2014. Moreover, he had won Eurobasket 2007 title with Russian national team.
