Omer Yurtseven: 'I need to play more, that's why I want to go to college'

Yurtseven told to Scout.com that he has been in touch with several schools

During the Basketball Without Borders Global Camp in Toronto, Turkish young star Omer Yurtseven said that he wants to play in the NCAA next year.

"Fenerbahce is a big club and they play at high level but I'm not playing that much," Yurtseven said to Evan Daniels of Scout.com. "I need to play more, so I have to go to a place where I can play more minutes and improve. That's why I want to go to college next season".

Yurtseven said that he has been in touch with several schools, including Duke, California, Arizona, Arizona State, Utah, Miami and Baylor.

Dont judge a 17 year old kid`s intelligence or anyone you dont know.NBA is his dream and if he really have opportunity to play for Duke, probably he will take it.If he has playing time in there that would be huge for his career. When you look at Egemen Guven and Emircan Kosut, his decision seems wise.As they both still play for reserve teams.Even if he not make it to NBA after NCAA he will find great contracts in Turkey.Even Deniz Kilicli played for Efes after NCAA.I understand your disappointment because you are a fener fan.You invested on him but you wont take anything from him.Thats a huge problem for all european clubs.

It is for sure that the intelligence of this young guy is way below the average. He still thinks that NCAA is a must for NBA. My dear young friend, please watch Porzingis and learn :) However, I believe he is not NBA material with his slim figure and slow feet. Bender, Zubac and Papagiannis are much better players than him.
