Datome: I chose Fenerbahce because I wanted to play for an European top team
Gigi Datome said he got offers from Wizards, Mavericks and Clippers during his free agency, added he doesn't close the doors to the NBA

Datome is in the USA with Fenerbahce to play two games against NBA franchises (Fenerbahce won the first game against Nets).
Datome decided to return to Europe after two years in the NBA with Pistons and Celtics.
“During the summer I had good offers from Clippers, Mavericks and Wizards but I did not see a lot of playing time for me with them so I decided to return to Europe. I got proposals from Russia to Spain, Italy and Turkey. I had talks with Olimpia Milano and met the president Livio Proli who has been super. But at the end I decided to sign with Fenerbahce because I wanted to have an experience in one of the European top clubs” added Datome.
