Jonathan Holmes added to USA World Cup qualifying team roster
He is replacing Jarell Eddie who has lower back spasms
USA Basketball announced today that Maine Red Claws forward Jonathan Holmes has been added to the roster for the November first-round FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Americas Qualifying games. Holmes replaces Jarell Eddie (Windy City Bulls) who is unable to compete because of lower back spasms.
Holmes joins previously announced USA World Cup Qualifying team members Markel Brown (Oklahoma City Blue); Semaj Christon (free agent); Larry Drew II (Sioux Falls Skyforce); Reggie Hearn (Reno Bighorns); Amile Jefferson (Iowa Wolves); Kennedy Meeks (Raptors 905); Elijah Millsap (Iowa Wolves); Xavier Munford (Wisconsin Herd); Donald Sloan (Texas Legends); Jameel Warney (Texas Legends); and Travis Wear (South Bay Lakers).
The U.S, plays Puerto Rico on Nov. 23 (7:30 p.m. EST) at the University of Central Florida’s CFE Arena in Orlando, and on Nov. 26 (5 p.m. EST) the USA faces Mexico at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex Fieldhouse in Greensboro, home of the Charlotte Hornets NBA G League affiliate Greensboro Swarm.
