Basket Nord Barese signs Ryan Amoroso

Power forward/center Ryan Amoroso has reached an agreement to compete for BNB Barese of Division 2 Silver in Italy for the 2013-14 season the club announced today.

This is Amoroso’s second stint playing professionally in Italy, after spending the 2011-12 season with Piacenza BC in which he averaged 7 points and 4.8 rebounds per game (60% FG) in 17.6 minutes per game (32 games).

Last season, Amoroso proved himself to be one of the best big men in Iceland’s Dominoes League – 20.7 points, 14.5 rebounds per game (ranked 2nd in the league), while shooting 56.3% from FG and 39.5% in 15 regular season games for Snaefell. Amoroso put up similar numbers over the course of 6 postseason games (21.5 points and 14.3 rebounds per game) and by the end of the full season earned All-Icelandic League Awards including Bosman Player of the Year, 1st Team All-Iceland, All-Import Team and All-Defensive Team.
