Laurent Legname, coach of JDA Dijon: 'I won't sign rookies anymore, they don't know how to play'
The coach was disappointed by his experience with American rookies
Laurent Legname, coach of French side JDA Dijon, was disappointed by his recent experience with American rookies, this season they were J.J. Frazier and Steve Taylor Jr, and in an interview, he said that he won't sign them anymore from next season.
"Yes, I won't sign no more rookies," said Legname. "The best rookies go to the NBA or to the European big clubs. Their individual talent is not in question. But they have a lot of issues. They don't have a play culture, they don't know how to play in a system basketball. This experience really helped me from that point of view. It takes a basketball culture to play against European defense and they simply don't have it. The best would be to sign players that already know the French league but with our budget is not always possible".
