French big man Mathias Lessort feels ready for the NBA
He's playing with Nanterre
In an interview with the official website of French League, big man Mathias Lessort, currently with Nanterre, said that he'd love to play in NBA already next season. Lessort is currently projected as the 37th pick in 2017 NBA Draft:
"Three or four years ago, if I had said I wanted to go to the NBA, no one would have believed me. Today, it seems logical for everyone that this has become an objective," said Lessort. " I do not give myself any limit. I try to take the steps one after the other. I will see how this happens at the draft, if I am drafted in the first or second round. You never know what can happen. When we see all the French people who were drafted last year, it's encouraging for me. There are still five months left before the draft. A lot of things can still happen. After a team drafts me and asks me to stay a year or two in Europe or D-League, I will do it. And when my time comes, I will be ready to seize my chance. "
Lessort is averaging 10.4 points and 7 rebounds per game this season.
