Derrick Nix says he is having troubles adapting to life in France
The big man doesn't like Orleans
American big man Derrick Nix is finding a lot difficulties in adapting to life in France.
The player signed with Orleans after a season in Latvia with VEF Riga.
“I don’t like the city. It is different from the USA. It is very hard for me to get used to life in France” admitted Nix to La Republique. “It is not about homesick because I’ve spent a season in Latvia with VEF Riga. I don’t know. France is different. It is not like USA. I am trying to adapt but it is hard” added the big man. “On the court I always put my heart. I have a friend who lives with me and Dom (assistant coach Dominique Roinard) is helping me a lot. I lost around 6kg since I’ve been here (La Republique writes he was overweight when he landed in France). But now I can play longer and jump higher. The work paid off” ended Nix.
