Liga Nationala: Oradea beats Targu Mures for the title
Oradea completes a great season with the first historical championship
CSM Oradea won the first Romanian title of own history, thanks to the game-5 victory against Targu-Mures and after the defeat of the 2014 finals.
With the absence of the 11-times champions Asesoft Ploiești (relegated in second division for economic problems) the race to the title it was really balanced this season. Targu Mures lost again a great opportunity, with the third defeat in a final of the last four years.
Oradea closed at first place the regular season (23-9), eliminating Galati and Cluj in the playoffs. Across the other finalist, after the fifth place, surprising all during the post-season with the victories against Craiova and Steaua Bucharest.
Oradea won the decisive game-5 79-73, celebrating at home the conclusion of an amazing season.
For the winners great final series for Zeno and Barnette, helped also by Mandache, Franklin and Zupan. For the opponents was not enough the losing effort of the seasonal top scorer Alhaji Mohammed, and the performances of Martinic and Gajovic.
