PAO C Sofoklis Schortsanitis will miss one month of action

Panathinaikos Athens center Sofoklis Schortsanitis will miss at least the start of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Top 16 due to a foot injury that will sideline him for one month, the club announced. Schortsanitis suffered the injury after playing just 29 seconds in the last regular season game for Panathinaikos, a 78-77 loss on the road against BC Khimki Moscow Region. Upon returning to Athens, the 27-year old center of Panathinaikos was diagnosed with a total rupture of the plantar fasciitis. He is expected to remain out of action for one month. Due to another injury, Schortsanitis had missed two previous game of the Euroleague regular season, during which he averaged 9.8 points and 2.9 boards.
