Olympiacos released Nesterovic hoping to re-negotiate his contract

Olympiacos today released Rasho Nesterovic paying him 50k of euros. The Greek team decided to exercise the clause in the contract of the Slovenian center releasing him behind payment of a small amount of money if compared to the one Nesterovic would have earned next season (around €1M). Now Reds hope to re-negotiate the contract with Nesterovic but with an important cut in the payroll.

Nesterovic returned to Europe last summer after several years in the NBA and in his 'second' experience in the Old Continent averaged 10.9ppg in Euroleague with 5.4rpg and 9.6ppg and 4.6rpg in domestic championships.

It is very unlikely now that Nesterovic will agree to a new contract. If he won't return to Olympiacos, the Greek team will try to bring back Lazaros Papadopoulos who finished the season in Russia with BC Khimki.
