A former continental champion is back in the Euroleague for the first time since 1999, as Olympiacos announced the arrival of center Rasho Nesterovic, who inked a two-year deal with last season's finalists on Thursday. Nesterovic (212, 34) arrives from Toronto, where he averaged 4.1 points and 2.2 rebounds in 40 NBA games last season. He started his career in Partizan and Litostroj Ljubljana before joining Union Olimpija in 1995. He helped Olimpija to win the league title in 1996 and played at the 1997 Euroleague Final Four with the Slovenian powerhouse. Nesterovic soon moved to Kinder Bologna, winning the Euroleague and the Italian League titles in the 1997-98 season - his first with the team. He helped Kinder to win the Italian Cup title and reach the Euroleague final in 1999. Nesterovic went overseas to play for Minnesota, San Antonio, Toronto and Indiana in the NBA. He lifted the NBA trophy with San Antonio in 1995. Nesterovic has also been a member of the Slovenian national team. In his 11 years in the NBA, Nesterovic played 875 games, scored 5,772 points and pulled down 4,372 rebounds. Nesterovic will now try to help Olympiacos to win its second Euroleague title next season.
