Alessandro Gentile likely to choose his next destination by Christmas
Gentile is targeted by Panathinaikos, Bayern Munich and Brose Bamberg. Barcelona GM De La Fuente asked info about Gentile
Alessandro Gentile will finish the season on loan abroad after reaching an agreement with Olimpia Milano. The captain of Milano last two Serie A championships has a contract till June 2018 with EA7 and in the summer will negotiate with the club whether to remain for the last season of his contract or definitely leave.
For the moment Gentile is on the market looking for a team to finish the season.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Gentile is likely to find a team by Christmas also considering that the market between the EuroLeague teams will be re-open from December 29 to January 5.
Fenerbahce seem to be out of the race for Gentile while Bamberg, Panathinaikos and Bayern Munich are interested in the Italian international while Rodrigo de la Fuente, Barcelona GM, asked info about the player.
Brose Bamberg has an Italian GM (Daniele Baiesi), an Italian coach (Andrea Trinchieri) and Nicolò Melli, a former teammate of Gentile in Milano and with the National Team.
Bayern Munich is coached by Sasha Djordjevic, an Olimpia Milano basketball legend.
Panathinaikos, where Gentile’s father, Nando, has played and won the EuroLeague.
Gentile, whose contract is €1.2 million per season till June 2018, would love to join Reggio Emilia where his brother Stefano is playing, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, but Milano vetoed an Italian destination for the current season.
