I agree with you that clubs like Panathinaikos and Maccabi have so big brand names that is an extra motive for a player with dreams and desires for glory, championships and international titles to come to there. And besides stats and critics, all that matters is the club and the coach. For example, Bourousis made a huge impact with coach Perasovic in Laboral but he was "dissapeared" in Madrid with Lasso. Another example: Fotsis was very bad in Milan with coach Scariolo but excellent with Obradovic. Nevertheless, coach Pedoulakis works hard with players with the Singleton's profile. Wait to see it!

in most EL teams, about 20 min. per game is what you get from his position, not to mention the fact that his execution or shooting % would not change given 'more minutes'... its all matter of perspective - he is a complementary player, not a leading player, saying he is not the one 'to do the difference' - in my view & attitude, I would rather have 4~5 'leading' foreign players, and for such role use local player which could surely bring similar contribution with added passion & devotion to the team... regarding 'interested' do not take for granted all those media & agents spins, if those were 'real' 50% of the EL players would have played in Maccabi along the years... Maccabi is certainly not among 'the top' budget clubs in EL, but players know that's maybe the best place for fans desire & basketball atmosphere devotion, so in many cases are willing to sign here for lower sums then other places, and regarding that 'interest' (even if indeed there was such) it doesn't say the team managment was not mistaken... see what happened last year when they shamed the Maccabi spirit with players who does not deserve to wear the Yellow shirts...

Do not develop too much expectations, average player at most... bad ball handling, poor quality shooter... mediocre player, might be nice 'back up' but in those cases I would rather prefer to have local player...

Second, Singleton has all the things coach Pedoulakis wants from a "big man". And about his stats, do not forget two more things: 1. He didn't play more than 20 minutes per game (most of the shots given by Randolph and Claver) and 2. He was a player that your team interested to get too. Singleton will make great games with Panathinaikos and help him return in the top of Europe.

The fact I'm Maccabi supporter is not relevant here, and I certainly have nothing personal with Singleton... 'solid defender' is nice but not enogh, foreign players are signed to execute, and Singleton does not - you say he has 'nice stats' ?! ... does ~42% for 2P + 30% for 3P + 4 RB per 20m' seem nice to you ? he is very unstable, also his free throws are mediocre... he had 1~2 good season games plus one remarkble game on playoff's vs. Barcelona, but that about it... take close look at his stats, at 60% of last season games his P/R was under 8, not a solid shooter, no assist contribution, tend to loose balls.... sorry my freind, with all due respect, thats not enough for my standards...

He was a key player for Lokomotiv's amazing last year's performance. He is a solid defender, plays excellent pick n' roll and shoots with nice stats form 2-5 metres. I totally agree with GreenEmperor, he will add quality to Panathinaikos.

Below the average player for Euroleague, Gist at his worst day is a better player than him...

Great signing for the Six-Starred. He will add quality to the green front line and make nice plays with Nick Calathes.
