Dimitris Diamantidis announces he'll retire after this upcoming season

The Greek point guard will retire in June

Greece
Dimitris Diamantidis announced that he will retire after this upcoming season.
The Panathinaikos point guard and legend will play one more year before retiring.
Diamantidis announced his decision in an interview with Prasini, owned by Panathinaikos’ owner Dimitris Giannakopoulos.

Via Eurohoops: I don’t have to think about it anymore, I have already decided. I want to play one more season. I want to finish my career the best way possible. My goal is to be healthy and help my team win titles. If we manage to achieve that, it will be the best possible ending for me. That’s life. There will be new players. I will stop playing but basketball and Panathinaikos will go on. Nothing is going to change. I feel full. I don’t look back yet. I have lived many great moments, I never expected all this. I just hope to be healthy and add something more this year”.

It's a unique privilege to watch him playing for Panathinaikos in the very last decade. No doubt, the best Greek athlete in this century. I hope this season will be endless...

Not just a player but a legend. Maybe the most complete and the best Greek player of all time and of course one of the best Europeans, he can do everything dish assist, scores on every way, play defense(steals and blocks). Hope that this season will never end. Just blessed to see him play the game!
