Panathinaikos name Josep Maria Berrocal assistant coach

Josep Maria Berrocal announced on his website that he will be the assistant coach of Dusko Ivanovic at Panathinaikos

"I'm happy to announce my new job and destination for next season.

I will be head assistant coach in Panathinaikos which is led by Dusko Ivanovic who I worked for my Barça period.

I want to thank Dusko and the Club to trust me in this great project.

I feel fortunate to become a part of a Club with the tradition and history of Panathinaikos.

My new job will bring me the opportunity to discover a new country, a new league and compete again at the highest level.

Coaching is like long distance running. The key is don't stop, keep running, always look for a new challenge and be brave with your decisions.

Those who know me, know I'm a basketball man who enjoys working as a coach. If that be head coach, assistant coach, training youth or teaching basketball courses.

Although I have had various options to return as Head Coach the opportunity to work in a Club like PAO with Dusko doesn't come along everyday, and it will be a great experience.

Last weeks I started working for my new club preparing for the next season.

I'm very excited to get to know our players, coaches, team and club staff, and our fans.
