PAOK keep coach Soulis Markopoulos till 2019

Long-time PAOK Thessaloniki head coach Soulis Markopoulos will remain on the club’s bench for years to come after the sides signed a contract extension for an additional five season that will keep him in Thessaloniki through 2019. Markopoulos, 65, has been PAOK’s head coach since 2009. This is his third stint with PAOK; He first coached PAOK in 1993-94, the year that the team won the Korac Cup and was again the team’s boss in 2005-06. Markopoulos was named Greek League coach of the year last season after leading PAOK to third place. He was also voted Coach of the Year in Greece in 2007-08 when he was with Maroussi. Markopoulos has also coached Aris Thessaloniki and Makedonikos in the past.
