Panionios keep Giannis Athanasoulas
The player extends for one season
Panionios Athens reached a new agreement with forward Giannis Athanasoulas to stay together next season, the club announced Tuesday. Athanasoulas (2.02 meters, 26 years old) just finished his third season with Panionios. He averaged 2.6 points in 5 Eurocup games this season, in which Athanasoulas helped Panionios to successfully defend a third-place finish in the Greek League. Athanasoulas has also played for Aris Petropolis, AEK Athens and Ilysiakos Athens before joining Panionios. He has been a member of the Greek U16, U18 and U20 national teams. Athanasoulas is expected to play a bigger role in Panionios's 2013-14 squad.
