Davor Kus announces his retirement

The career of the Croatian guard ends after 20 years of basketball

Croatia
Before the last final game of Croatian Championship, president of Cibona Aleksandar Petrović handed a present in the name of the club to Davor Kus. The player received a loud applause from almost full Dražen Petrović arena. It is the applause, which marked an end of one magnificent basketball career, which made this veteran player from Rijeka one of Cibona's legends.

Kus said goodbye to Zagreb's basketball pride as a player with the highest number of games played for this club – 609! He collected this fascinating number of appearances throughout 11 seasons played for the Wolves during which he claimed no less than 15 trophies, including the ABA League Championship title from 2013/14 season.

Kus started his basketball career in Susak in 1995/96 season and afterwards continued his career with Kvarner Rijeka, for which he played between 1996 and 2000. Afterwards he spent four seasons with Cibona before moving abroad and returning for the first time to Dražen's dome for the 2005/06 and 2006/07 season. He returned to Zagreb for the second time in 2008/09 season, but left again and joined Cibona again in 2011, which was the beginning of his final episode in the blue jersey. Besides Cibona he also played for foreign giants such as AEK, Unicaja, Benetton and Fuenlabrada.

On behalf of the ABA league, we wish to thank the player for everything that he has done for the regional competition and for the basketball loving fans.
