Cedevita announces Stanko Barac

The Croatian big man signs with Cedevita

Center Stanko Barać signed an agreement which bounds him with Cedevita until the end of season. Cedevita until now had only one true center – Miro Bilan – and it is expected that Barać's presence will be extremeli helpful for them.

Since the last season, Stanko did not play for any club. He had problems with injuries and aftr the reovery he practiced in Široki Brijeg. Now he wants to catch his old, good shape with coach Jasmin Repeša, who was the coach that selected him to play for Croatia national team years ago.

„I am happy to have come to a club that is extremely well organized. Head coach with whom I have experience from working with in the national team is here. Now I need a club, where I can return to a high level. Physically I am fully prepared and I believe that both sides will be satisfied with the cooperation. I am healthy and can fulfill all the expectations," said the new Cedevita center, who already did his first practice with Cedevita, but will not yet be in the roster in the first round of Eurocup Last 32, when Cedevita faces Zaragoza.
217 cm tall Stanko Barać started his career in Široki Primorka. Aferwards he spent four years at Tau Ceramica (now Laboral Kutxa) and later played for Valencia and Anadolu Efes.
In the Euroleague he played 98 games, averaging 7 points and 4 rebounds. For Croatia national team he appeared at EuroBaskets 2007 and 2011 and 2008 Olympic Games. In 2007 he was selected as 39th overall pick at the NBA Draft. He was selected by Indiana Pacers. However, as things turned out he never played in the NBA later.
