The inaugural FIBA Europe Cup Round of 32 reached an exciting climax on Wednesday evening, with 14 teams still fighting it out for the remaining seven spots in the Round of 16 Play-Offs.
The biggest intrigue was in Group S, with all four teams still within a chance of advancing. Eventually, it was Energia Targu-Jiu advancing in first place despite an 86-101 loss at home to Pieno Zvaigzdes, along with BC Cibona who produced a tense 93-92 win on the road over STB Le Havre.
No less than 13 countries and leagues are represented in the Round of 16 Play-Offs, with only Belgium, France and Turkey having more than one club (2 each).
In the Round of 16 Play-Offs, the teams will play a best-of-three game series, the higher seeded team hosting Games 1 and 3. The games will take place between 17 February and 2 March.
