Bayamon conquers Puerto Rican title

Vaqueros Bayamón conquered their fourteenth BSN title and the first after thirteen years by beating Piratas Quebradillas yesterday 84 to 82 in game six of the playoff finals. Although Bayamón played in their homecourt, the team had many difficulties to overcame Quebradillas, as they trailed for most of the game (13 points with 10 minutes left) and only in the final seconds the win was sealed with Javier Mojica converting one free throw.
Carmelo Lee led the champions with 17 points and 8 rebounds, while Nigerian Olumide Oyedeji added a double-double (14 points and 15 boards) and Christian Dalmau scored 12 points. For Quebradillas the topscorer was Peter John Ramos with 24 points (10 rebounds and 5 assists), followed by Joel Jones with 21 and 7 rebounds and Shawn Redhage with 12 and 7.
With this title, Bayamón joined San Germán as the club with most titles in the Puerto Rican league.
