Leones de Ponce announced the signing of guard Carlos Arroyo for the 2017 edition of Liga de las Americas.
Arroyo is expected to join the team in January and play for them in Liga de las Americas that features some of the best teams in the region. Group D in Ponce is going to be played from February 10-12.
Last season Arroyo played for F.C. Barcelona and averaged 5.5 points and 2.4 assists in 33 games.
His last stint in Puerto Rico was with Cangrejeros de Santurce in BSN and averaged 17.4 points and 6.5 assists in 39 games.
In the national team, he played on the 2016 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Belgrade and averaged 13.3 points and 4.5 assists. After the tournament, he announced his retirement from national team play.
Ponce is expected to have one of the strongest teams in Liga de las Americas after also securing Victor Liz, Derek Reese, Gabriel Colon, Carlos Emory and Angel Daniel Vassallo for the tournament. The team can also sign three imports to complete the roster.
