I had one of the highest basketball #IQ's in the game....I understood EVERY aspect of basketball,from the smallest details...my understanding of mathematics,tendencies and coaches teaching was the reason it was impossible to stop me from getting what I wanted...from this vid I can tell what play this is....#thumbsdown...which is when the 4 and 5 are down screening for the shooters who are crossing underneath....#simplePlay..how a coach teaches their players to guard this play....#guards,dont lose contact and force the player one way,try not to shoot the gap becuz the player will fade to the corner and theres no help on a fade unless its a non shooter...#BIGS make sure u keep contact with ur man and #hedge if there's a tight curl becuz the guard will be trailing the play and watch out for the big slipping behind u for a easy lob.....the player guarding the ball is taught,on the flt of the ball jump in the direction of the pass so u can help on all elbow shots......heres how my basketball #IQ worked offensively...i STUDIED blind spots in teachings to help me offensively.....ur 2,3 are busy forcing players one way...ur 4,5 is on a down screen so defenively their backs are to the ball at some point.....the only player that has eyes on the ball is the player guarding me BUT coaches teaching put him at a disadvantage #1 hes clueless to everything going on behind him BUT I see everything behind him.. #2 since he is the helper on any elbow shot, he will be leaning on the same side the ball is on ..there will be a 2-3 second gap when only 2 out of 10 eyes are on the ball..soon as I see that..i lean and look like im passing,with a quick across over the player guarding me is beat....the anticipation of the pass is what gave me the advatage..by time his teammates realized he was beat I was already at the rim #realstudentOfthegame #ballislife
