Florida International fire Isiah Thomas

Florida International announced it had fired Thomas after three seasons with the school. ‘We want to thank Isiah Thomas for his three years here at FIU,’ athletics director Pete Garcia said in a statement. ‘However, we have decided to take the program in a different direction.’ Thomas was just 26-65 and 14-36 in the Sun Belt during his tenure. His best year was 2010-11 when the school finished 11-19. This past season started well with defeat of George Mason in the opener.
