Laettner, West, Thompson Top 2010 College Basketball Hall Of Fame Class

The 2010 inductees to the College Basketball Hall of Fame were announced, led by Duke’s Christian Laettner and West Virginia’s Jerry West and NC State’s David Thompson. They will be inducted on November 21st in Kansas City, MO. Check out the credentials for each and their current whereabouts after the jump:

Christian Laettner: Laettner is the all-time NCAA Tournament scoring leader (407 points) and is the only player to ever start in four Final Fours. He is a self-described “soccer dad” currently residing in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida with his wife and 3 kids.

Jerry West
: West was the 1959 Tournament MOP despite the Mountaineers losing in the final to Cal. He’s also the silhouette for the NBA’s logo. Today he resides in Los Angeles, CA and is the executive Director of the PGA Tour’s Northern Trust Open in L.A.

David Thompson: Thompson was nicknamed “Skywalker” because of his amazing leaping ability, but he also knew how to win. He led NC State to the 1974 NCAA Championship. He recently left the Christian Sports Ministry group 2XSalt, but still resides in Charlotte, NC.

Sidney Wicks: Wicks helped bridged the gap between the Lew Alcindor and Bill Walton eras at UCLA. He won three national titles with the Bruins and was the 1970 Tournament MOP. After working in real estate in Los Angeles, CA, Wicks settled down in Hampstead, North Carolina, where he resides today.

Tex Winter
: Winter coached five different NCAA Division I schools but he had his most success at Kansas State. He led the Wildcats to two Final Fours (’58 and ‘64) and eight league titles. He’s also the innovator of the triangle offense, and was an assistant under Phil Jackson for his first nine NBA titles with the Bulls and Lakers. Winter suffered a stroke last April; he resides in Oregon.

Davey Whitney: Whitney spent most of his coaching career at Alcorn State, where he won 12 SWAC regular-season titles and seven conference tournaments. Now 80, Whitney lives in Biloxi, Mississippi and tends to his wife, Bernice.

Wayne Duke: Duke played a major role in building up the NCAA Tournament and the College World Series. He’s also served as the Big East and Big Ten commissioner.

Tom Jernstedt: Jernstedt helped drive the NCAA Tournament’s growth, including expansion, switching from basketball arenas to domes and working on television contracts.
