Hansbrough Sets ACC Career Scoring Record

Il lungo dei Tar Heels continua ad infrangere record su record

North Carolina star Tyler Hansbrough has broken the Atlantic Coast Conference's career scoring record.

The 6-foot-9 senior needed three points in the Tar Heels' NCAA tournament opener against Radford on Thursday to pass Duke's J.J. Redick for the mark. Hansbrough missed his first two shots before tying Redick on a layup about 3 1/2 minutes in, then broke the record with a pair of free throws with 15:43 left in the first half.

Hansbrough came in with 2,767 points.

He set the career scoring record at North Carolina in December, breaking Phil Ford's 30-year-old mark. He passed Sam Perkins for the school's career rebounding record at last week's ACC tournament.
