ChartSide is a “basketball analytics & software” project that just released a web app named ChartSide Sport that can be reached here: http://www.chartsidesport.com

Our mission is to provide a valuable tool to professional teams, scouts, agents and even media. ChartSide Sport app allows video event tracking, advanced statistical analysis on these data, video and multimedia repository and control and a lot of other tools and integrations. Everything in one place, that allows teams to work in synergy with ease.

The web app is fully responsive and can be used on any mobile device or personal computer keeping personal informations, statistics and videos in the cloud, so that they can be available anywhere and anytime.

“The level of detail and analysis is completely customizable. One may start by simple events like shots and rebounds up until the hand used to attack in a pick and roll situation. The user can track playcalls, lineups, defensive and offensive schemes and have detailed information about efficiency, frequency and overall effectiveness of those situations”, says Michele Berra, co-founder of  ChartSide. “ The key value is to give an immediate insight of what happens on the court using a unified view of video clips, charts and statistical metrics. Every team can decide to collect the data by themselves, or ask our professional taggers to do so and spare time in the process”.

The web app has been developed to be used at the highest level in basketball under the supervision of Rick Fois, Gonzaga University, who followed the development step by step, and used the app last season as assistant coach for the Zags.

There were other collaborations during the past few years, in particular with Italian teams (Junior Casale, A2) and many media such as Rivista Ufficiale NBA, Sky Sport, Ultimo Uomo, and also international: DraftExpress, The Ringer and Vantage Sports.

“This could be the ideal tool for teams and basketball professionals to improve their feel and knowledge about their team and players and communicate it in an effective and immediate way”, says Nicolò Ciuppani, the other co-founder of ChartSide.

“Next week we’ll be in Vegas for the Summer League, where we are going to show the app to scouts, executives and anyone who’s interested. Clearly, we’re encourage people to reach out directly there or to write us in order to have a personalized virtual tour of our web app!”
