Micah Shrewsberry, assistant coach for the Celtics, is one of the top candidates to become the new head coach of UMass.
Per The Vertical, Shrewsberry has interviewed with UMass officials about the opening and is expected to be granted a second meeting soon, sources said.
Shrewsberry, 40, has worked on coach Brad Stevens’ staffs with the Celtics and at Butler University. Shrewsberry has had stops at Purdue, Marshall and spent two seasons as the head coach at Indiana University-South Bend.
