NCAA UNDERGROUND 2017 - Five players to follow....

....ready for your European team

NCAA
PG – PARIS LEE (ILLINOIS STATE) – He leads a rare case of serious challenge to Wichita State in winning the Missouri Valley. At the moment his team is 12-1 and this hyperactive lefty is one of the key reason of the great season. Always on the ball, loves to beat his man off the dribble (particularly on his left side) but is more attracted by the 3point shot, even better if on a step-back move. Shooting over 40% from 3’s… plays great defense with both hands and feet with great nose for the steal. Sometimes he goes out of control but 12-1 speaks loud in his favor.

SG – T.J. CROMER (EAST TENNESSEE STATE) – You have to be his fan. Raised by his grandmother and his grand-grandmother in Georgia… wears number 0 which is the amount of Division I scholarship offers came to him out of high school… few years later he is scoring 18 per game shooting 40% behind the arc. He is great in playing off the ball, off the screens to free himself for the outside jumper or curling in for the layup. He is not particularly strong physically but has amazingly soft hands to finish in any condition. Has got strong mentality and ambition. He might not be a lockdown defensive player but you will never bet against him and his pro future somewhere in the world. Pure scorer.

SG/SF – JONATHAN WADE (NORFOLK STATE) – Another player totally ignored by Division I out of high school… Coach Jones saw him at the Orlando Elite Camp in the summer and brought him to Norfolk, Virginia. 6-4 Swingman who has no problem in scoring 20 every night now that his outside shot is more than reliable from any distance. His first step off the dribble has always been there to kill the defense, now has got few pounds more to absorb the contact and finish at the rim. He loves to study the NBA, specifically the way Bradley Beal (a cult for a Florida-native like him) uses screens to free his jumper, and we can appreciate his improvements in this subject.

SF/PF – JEREMY HOLLOWELL (GEORGIA STATE) – Not a defensive player, but in the offense it’s a rare gem for the technical and physically skills he can count on. Plays both forwards spot in college with amazingly easy approach (he plays some 5 too…) and if the NBA forget about him this is a star tomorrow morning in many european leagues as a stretch 4. Can create off the dribble, has got long range on his jumper and can put the back to the basket to exploit his length…. He wanted to play at Georgia State with his “brother” R.J.Hunter (they know each other since the 3rd grade) but his brother had a first round pick waiting for him.

PF/C – JAVION OGUNYEMI (SIENA) – The Saints produce a lot of players for Europe, (only in Italy Ron Moore, Kenny Hasbrouck and OD Anosike…), this will be the next one. He’s a very dynamic big who can play 4 and 5 and technically can hit from mid-range. At his best when receiving the ball at the elbow where he can get to the rim both sides or hit the jumper. In low post has a reliable right baby hook on his left shoulder, while tends to go down at the rim too obviously using only his strength when going to his right shoulder. Great timing for the blocks. Solid big for Europe.
