NCAA UNDERGROUND 2017 - Five players to follow....

....ready for your European team

NCAA
PG – JAYLON BROWN (EVANSVILLE) – Not so underground considering he’s the top scorer in the Missouri Valley Conference and one of the top10 in the nation for free throws attempted. Brown, forced to play off the ball to replace 20 points last year were coming from DJ Balentine, can play both guards spot with great scoring ability and court vision. He’s not so strong physically but can take hit inside when going to the rim. His Aces not in a great year but he’s going at 21 per game with solid 45% from 3’s.

SG – MARCUS MARSHALL (NEVADA) – Had a big boost from the epic game vs New Mexico... in the last two games he’s scoring 28 with 50% from the court. Shooting guard with limited variety of scoring options, not even particularly quick when going to the basket… but in terms of soft release and shooting range, not so many like him in the whole nation.

SF – ERIC FANNING (BOSTON U.) – A 6-4 fighter on the court. Not so spectacular or technically refined but has toughness and Pro mentality for sure. He can help his team in many ways on both ends of the court. In offense can hit the 3-point shot (37% over four years in college) or go to the rim when he’s able to exploit his quality ball handling and strength on upper body to absorb the contact and finish. During the week had a couple of losing effort averaging 24 with 12 rebounds….

PF – JEROME FRINK (LIU-BROOKLYN) – Blue collar four man with strong upper body ready to battle in European basketball. Might struggle against stretch four playing outside the arc but when it’s time to show strength in the paint, he’s the man. In offense, has quick feet and can definitely hit outside the arc. We might be wrong, but after 1 or 2 years in eastern european leagues he can play high level of FIBA basketball somewhere.

C – DEMETRIS MORANT (FGCU) – Long and thin middle man with rockets in his feet. In the offense he basically does one thing, and one thing only… but very well. Plus, he’s in Dunk-City. He gets the ball around and above the rim, which is why he’s got a crazy 73% from the court. On defense has got bounce, mobility and timing for the block that will bother many players for years in Europe to come…
