Sean May decided to retire at 31 and returns to the North Carolina Tar Heels as Director of Player Development.

Per ESPN, In a statement from the school, May said he has long been interested in college coaching. He said the job will help him "get started along that path at the place it all began for me" after playing professionally for a decade in the NBA and overseas.
May led the Tar Heels to the 2004-05 NCAA championship after averaging 22.3 points and 10.7 rebounds per game in that season's tournament.
