NCAA (less and less) UNDERGROUND: Sweet 16‏

The best starting five of the Sweet Sixteer

NCAA

SPORTANDO-U. TEAM OF THE WEEK

G – TJ McConnell (Arizona)

Surrounded by many NBA first-rounder he shows the muscle for which he’s definitely number one of his team, the heart. Amongst RHJ unbelievable hops and Stan Johnson in-between jewels, at the end he’s the one winning the game with heavy shots to increase the lead. Amongst all the Wildcats still in the tournament (UK included) nobody has his personality in taking decisions down the stretch.

G – Demetrius Jackson (Notre Dame)

Coach Brey best kept secret. An NFL full-back playing both guards positions. He’s perfect match with Grant in the offense as he cam play both on and off the ball. Pushes the fastbreak with quality reads and also running sets has high basketball IQ. Then, if you shoot 80 from threes in a Regional semis…

F – Branden Dawson (Michigan State)

Let’s do like this NCAA Committee: if it’s coached by Tom Izzo you can’t give a 7th seed. Trice is the leader, Valentine let it fly but whatever happens far from the ball is in the hands and body of this amazing athlete with some technical limits but an olimpyc-medal level of physical impact on the game. Has got no position, but we use to say the same about Draymond Green, and look where he is now…

C – Matt Stainbrook (Xavier)

We Can’t resist to him… still not in great shape, but watching him schooling down low few NBA first rounder is a great feeling. Until he runs out of gas, Xavier is in control of the game. With such footwork in the low post only Okafor in college basketball. Please don’t think we’re going too far with him…

C – Przemek Karnowski (Gonzaga)

He jokes with Allie’s friend and Welsh througout the game. More pounds he found to beat, more damage he did down low. As soon as they double-down’d him, he showed the young Lithuanian from Portland how would have felt to play 10 minutes with his dad with two amazing no-look passes… unstoppable. It’s your turn Jahlil…
