Michigan State won against Northwestern with a great offensive effort, shooting 53% from the field and 52% from long range. Senior big man Adreian Payne had 20 points, 14 rebounds and 3 assists, while sophomore all-around Denzel Valentine had 16 points, 5 boards and 6 assists.
For the Wildcats senior swingman Drew Crawford had 18 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists.
