San Diego State beats Kansas 61-57 with a great defensive performance - the Jayhawks shot their lowest field goal percentage of any home game under Self, Andrew Wiggins and Perry Ellis combined for 5 of 22 from the field- and a breakout game from sophomore big man Skylar Spencer, who had 13 points, 9 rebounds and 6 blocks. Senior guard Xavier Thames was the top scorer with 16 points and four huge free throws in the closing seconds.
For the Jayhawks freshman big man and NBA prospect Joel Embiid had 12 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks, while freshman pointguard Frank Mason added 14 points with 4 of 8 from the field.
