Senior power forward Adreian Payne had a career high 33 points - 8 of 8 from two, 2 of 5 from long range, 11 of 12 FT- in the Michigan State's 92-78 win over Texas.
Coach Tom Izzo said on his performance:'This is probably Adreian Payne's best game of his life and definitely of his Michigan State career, we went to him just about every time and he delivered almost every time, with the way he shot from the field, from the 3-point line, from the free throw line, getting nine boards. He did a heck of a job'.
For the Spartans sophomore shooting guard Gary Harris had 19 points ( 4 of 8 FG, 10 of 11 FT) and 5 assists, while powerful junior forward Branden Dawson had a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds.
For Texas the top scorer was sophomore big man Cameron Ridley with 17 points (5 of 10 FG, 7 of 10 FT) plus 9 rebounds
