Connecticut defeats Indiana 59-58
The Huskies win the 2K Sports Classic Benefiting Wounded Warrior Project
Connecticut takes advantage of the greater experience of the senior pointguard Shabazz Napier to beat Indiana 59 to 58 in the final of the 2K Sports Classic Benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project at Madison Square Garden.
Napier scored 27 points with 3 assists and 7 turnovers, shooting 6 of 8 from two, 4 of 6 from three and 3 of 7 free throws, the only Huskies in double figures, while his teammates close with 11 of 39 from the field.
Napier fixed the score at 59-58 just over a minute left, the Hoosiers fail to respond among turnovers and shooting errors of sophomore pointguard Yogi Ferrell (19 points with 2 assists, 6 of 19 from the field) and freshman power forward Noah Vonleh, affected by fouls problems.
