Rodney Hood hopes to stay long-term in Cleveland
The shooting guard recently signed a qualifying offer
Rodney Hood recently signed the qualifying offer, worth 3.4 mln, to stay with the Cavs this season but the summer didn't go as planned. Hood was looking for an offer around 10-12 mln per season, but Cavs never reached that point and offered him a contract worth around $7 mln per season. Hood wasn't comfortable with that offer and decided, instead, to sign the offer sheet and waiting for a better proposal next summer. But despite the contract issues, Hood hopes to stay in Cleveland long-term, as he revealed to Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com:
"I believe strongly in myself that after this year, I’ll be able to make Cleveland my home and we’ll get a better deal next summer," Hood said. "I like the community, even though I haven’t been out there a lot. I want to make this a home. It’s just didn’t happen this summer. That’s how I look at it.”
