Celtics guard Jabari Bird arraigned on assault charges

Boston Celtics guard Jabari Bird was arraigned today on the domestic violence charges. Bird is accused of assaulting his girlfriend for four hours in his apartment and strangling her multiple times, including once until she lost consciousness. He is also accused of kicking her repeatedly in the stomach when she woke up until Bird began to experience some type of mental distress.

Bird will be held on $100k bail, $50k of which has to be cash. Bird is due back in court Oct. 25.
