The Spanish big man wants to play again for his National Team
Pau Gasol would love to play for Spain the next FIBA Basketball World Cup in 2019.
The Spanish big man will decide after the season with the Spurs whether to help Spain in the World Cup and try to qualify for the Olympics in Tokyo in 2020.
Per News4SanAntonio, San Antonio Spurs’ Pau Gasol released his new autobiography, “Bajo El Aro (Below The Hoop)” and during the launch event, he spoke on the chances of him playing for Team Spain at the FIBA World Cup next summer.
Saying it all depends on his health, Gasol told Spanish site El Dia he is leaving the door open to help Spain qualify for the next Olympic Games. “I want to have the best possible regular-season and once I finish I will see how physically I am. I am about to turn 39. I love playing with the national team and I would like to continue, and qualify for the Olympic Games in Tokyo and help the team with my presence, if I am physically well my belief and my wish is to be in the World Cup.”
