Joffrey Lauvergne leaning towards declining his player option, he's drawing interest from Europe
Fenerbahce and CSKA Moscow are looking at him
French big man Joffrey Lauvergne is leaning towards declining his player option, worth 1.6 mln, for the next season, according to a league source. Today represents the deadline for Lauvergne to make the final decision about his player option. Among league executives there's the growning feeling that Lauvergne is considering returning to Europe to find an offer with better playing time and guaranteed money, league sources told Sportando. But, of course, if other offers from the NBA would appear, Lauvergne will definitely consider them.
If Lauvergne actually takes the European route, a team who's expected to express interest in the big man is Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahce, a source told Sportando. Another top European team that is showing interest in Lauvergne is CSKA Moscow, according to a report from Turkish journalist Ismail Senol.
Lauvergne played 55 games this season with the Spurs, averaging 4.1 points and 3.1 rebounds per game.
